My name is Donna and this page was created by an idea that was thought about when I was asked to be part of a film called Interracial Dating in America, produced by a good friend from Nu Soul Productions, named Chris Clay.

Here is how I came to be a part of this great film, the most controversial documentary thus far. I had met Chris Clay a few years back, then lost contact and now recently had met up again in the summer of 2006, and he mentioned to me what he was doing regarding the movie. We talked for hours and he found out that I had dated interracially all my life so with that, plans were made and August 10, 2006 he came to Boston and started filming. Me, imagine, me being asked to be in such a film, right up my alley and totally in my element. Loving every moment of this and being so true to myself.

So, my story has reached many and the comments I received after some had viewed the clips are outstanding.

I have always in some way or another been in the fashion/beauty/retail industry, ever so much enjoying consulting, helping, and giving my knowledge to better help individuals in their appearance (whether it be hair,nails,clothing,makeup, etc.). I’ve worked in many salons, spas, barber shops as well at some of the most elite boutiques. I even have operated a men’s tuxedo/fine apparel store, been a personal consultant/shopper for men, as well as working as a personal trainer, and helping many stay fit with various workout programs.

I had always dreamed of having something of my own and nothing has ever been given to me. I thought I just couldn’t find my niche!! I have worn so many different hats in my lifetime and it always comes back to my appearance that gets me complimented on, which I do work very hard at and am so proud of what I continue to achieve. Knowing the way I am with people and how they “value” my opinions, my ideas in taste regarding clothing, style and appearance, I had come up with an idea and sharing it with Chris Clay to design T-shirts based on the film, Interracial Dating in America. I feel so strongly about this subject, and so proud of this documentary, I came up with the simplest “truthful” words for my T’s..... Shadesoflove, just what it is! WOW! Loving it, has a nice ring to it. Ya think...
